Course Outcome:
This course refreshes the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid
response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first
aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.
This unit incorporates the content of units HLTCPR201A
Perform CPR and HLTFA201A Provide basic emergency life support.

A current Apply First Aid certificate is required. Code HLTFA301B
Pre-Reading:
Students are provided with a
‘Pre-Reading Booklet’ and the manual ‘Emergency First Aid.
This ‘Pre-Reading Booklet’ DOES NOT contribute to your
theory assessment and contains ‘recommended reading’ and Assessment Question exercises.

Assessment Procedure:
Students must successfully complete a Multi-Choice Theory Paper at the
conclusion of the day.
Demonstrations of appropriate understanding of the procedures
necessary to manage a life-threatening situation.

- Practical Demonstrations
You must prove your competency for
each section to qualify for a certificate.
Facilities
& Equipment:
Each participant will be provided with all of the intellectual materials
required to study all modules.
Each program will also be supported with adequate
Teaching Aids to assist with the theory and practical training modules such as
CPR manikins, Bandages, Visual Aids, Handouts etc as appropriate.
