Harvey is a University of Queensland graduate and joint fellowship holder in Surgery and Emergency Medicine (FRACS and FACEM). Harvey has over 37 years experience in Emergency Medicine (26 as ED Director) and pre-hospital medicine including RFDS (4 years),
rescue helicopters both nationally (20 years) and more recently internationally (8 years). Harvey chose to cease general surgery in 2003 after 20 years of practice to devote his energy to, and continue his passion for emergency and retrieval medicine in both fixed and rotary wing. Harvey has performed roles as Medical Director, lecturer, and instructor on some 50 PHTLS courses throughout Australia and internationally. He has also extensive experience in, and continues to lecture and tutor doctors, nurses, paramedics and medical students.
Dr Mike Cameron – Senior Flight Doctor and Duty Consultant
Mike graduated from the University of Queensland in 1981 and had his first experience in aeromedical work just over a year later. During his subsequent Emergency Medicine training at the Gold Coast, Princess Alexandra and Mater Children’s Hospitals, he regularly participated in fixed wing and rotary wing aeromedical work, both primary and inter hospital. He frequently fills the Flight Doctor role on our international aeromedical retrievals. He is currently a Senior Staff Specialist in the Redland Hospital Emergency Department and an active instructor in Advanced Paediatric Life Support.
